Africa Twin hole in the tank

My brothers Africa Twin has a hole on the top right side of the tank just next to the petrol cap.The rest of the tank is fine,just that hole with a slight indentation.
We'v been contemplaiting wheather or not to patch it or have the tank completely redone.
If we want to just fix the hole what would be the best way..?  Any advice ?
