Hey All
Wondering if anyone has attempted to install a "longer" 5th gear in their R1100GS's gearbox? Or if this is at all possible and if such a part is available for these models....? A buddy of mine has gone through a similar excersice on an older model beemer with great success.
As you know, the R1100GS gets a bit thirsty at speeds exceeding 120km/h. Mine revs at 4250 rpm at 120km/h and the fuel consumption is dramatically worse that at revs below 4000rpm. So is it possible to reduce the revs by replacing the 5th gear?
