To all those lc8 gurus, way cleverer than me, i have a question.
What is the reason for the one way check valve outlet of the oil tank ?, reason im asking is if the oil pump in the bowels of the beast pumps air into the tank, and that air then goes into the front cam cover, which then pressurises the crankcase and can force oil through the seal into the front carb, Woulddnt it be easier and better, ie more oil in the sump, to just remove the ball, and let some oil sit in the sump.
Only downfall of doing this that i can think of, is you woukdnt be able to use the diostick?
But surely the clever enginerrs at ktm musta had a reason for doing it the way they did?
Can anyone elaborate?
