I pushed my bike home this afternoon. OK, only 3km, but still.
It started perfectly this morning and ran a few errands today - no problem. But suddenly at 16:50 it was dead. At home it was confirmed. voltage drops from 12.73V to 4V with ignition on. A test with a 7A battery confirmed that it was indeed the battery.
Question: is there a difference in quality batteries from different suppliers? Aren't a lot of them manufactured by the same factory locally and just branded differently? I have been supporting the same supplier in Paarden Island and bought the last 3 batteries for a F800GS from them - the last one is 1 and a bit years old. Thinking back I was never really that impressed compared with the OEM BMW batteries.
