Hypothetically if you started from a blank canvas, what should one have in a touring bike? Not a endure type bike, nor necessary a 1200 big bike.
Ok for me, a bike that can do 140km/h all day has good fuel consumption and range. Not necessary the most powerful, but plenty torque low down and adequate suspension. Built tough and simple and as light as possible.
By touring, I don't mean rally, motocross or trail riding. Riding the road less travelled, be it tar, dirt or sand (ok I would try keep sand and mud riding to a minimum).
