Last week Wednesday morning two of the steeds were stolen. My DL650 and Honda Twister.
The b.......s did not touch my old airhead. The good news is that a photo of the Strom was posted
on FB Cpf Springs at about 8am with the caption `Missing bike`. By 8.30 am the bike was returned to me
by a fellow biker. At about 3.30am he spotted the thieves pushing the bike past his house two blocks
from my place and gave chase. They dropped the bike and ran away. He secured it at his place and I
collected it later. Bless him!
Two days later the SAPS found the Twister hidden in a veld a few km`s from my spot.
I collected it from the Benoni pound today.
Hats off to The SAPS and neighbors keeping their eyes open.
The Suz had a broken clutch and gear levers, and the Twister`s ignition destroyed.
Minor damage considering no insurance, but plenty luck.
I was told that over 40 bikes have been stolen on the East Rand alone in one week.
The thieves are getting bolder by the day, so double lock your stuff and ensure that the alarms are
functional.
