A biker died in Dann Road this afternoon when a truck turned in front of him.

According to a bystander the biker was not speeding when hitting the truck.  By the looks of damage to the truck the bike probably hit the front suspension of the truck.  The truck then went over the bike before it stopped with its left rear wheel partly on the bike.  The bikers helmet was severly damaged and he probably died of head unjuries.

There are no skid marks visible on the road, indicating that the biker did not even have enough time to touch his brakes.

The missing treads on the truck tyres indicate that it was doing a high mileage in unroadworthy condition.  If laws were properly enforced in this country this truck would not be on the road and probably also not its driver.  After the accident the truck was loaded with its load on another truck, hopefully to have it inspected to be used as evidence to prosecute the owner/operator/driver.

Putting these pics on the WD site may be seen as insensitive but will hopefully contibute to wide awake carefull WD's out there on the road.
