Some time ago my 1200 started playing up, symptoms/problems experienced were:

When ignition is turned on the whole system would take ages to "wake", sometimes I would have to turn the key into off position and then on again to be able to start the engine
Every now and then the power (electrical) would just droop off totally, just as if the battery positive was disconnected, after a second or two it would switch on again, or it would not

This happened on an occasion whilst overtaking and I almost "kakked" myself..so I started asking around. Most said that the battery was the culprit, anyway after changing the battery it did it again.

Anyway i scratched around and asked a few fellows who mentioned that the ignition micro switches can give trouble, they show that they are working when you use a multimeter to check but when they switch 12V the actually read high resistance..

Anyway i found a second hand switch off of a smashed bike fitted it and did around 700km this last weekend...all good, never missed a beat..  :thumleft:

Below some pics of the switch .. :deal:
