The son-in-law and I have acquired this bike. It was first meant to be on behalf of a friend of mine, who did not have the money available immediately, and then my s.i.l. bought in on the project, thus paying for the bike (R30,000) With him living abroad and me having retired, he suggested that I tackle it as a project
All the paperwork is in order and its licensed up to end August 2019. I did not want to lose out on the opportunity to get the bike because I thought it was at a fair price.
The bike has 16,300 odd km on the clock, which I later realized would rather be 116,300km (comparing the wear on the discs with my bike's wear on the discs that has less than 50,000km on) I bought a new battery yesterday and took it for a short drive. It was running OK-ish but the wheels were low on pressure and it thus handled terribly. The bike had been standing in a garage for many years and had not been ridden for years. It does need some tlc. No major rust, but a couple of spots of oil leaks/sweating
It has got two new tyres (and the tank was full of fuel  ;)
I would appreciate any comment, as I am getting a lot of contradicting advice. Some say sell as is, others say restore. What do you think?
