My boet bought a 1980 R100T last December & had all good intentions of making it a 'project bike' out of it.

Shortly afterwards he bought a new house & all of his time, energy & funds have been poured into it.

We work together, so this bike has been sitting outside my office for 8 months... I couldn't take it any more!!

I made a deal with him that I would give the (fugly) bike a 'makeover' for him... work on the bike during office hours ONLY (that way I still kinda get paid for it  ) and do it on a budget that won't break (his) bank.

Plan...

Strip off: fairing, panniers, stock seat, rear muddie, side covers, sotck indicators, bars & all other crap that they stuck on these 'Touring' models.

Paint the tank (gun metal metallic) & front muddie (black)

De-tab the rear subframe, make a seat pan & do a full-size bratstyle seat (brown pin cushion vinyl)

Fit MX bars, bar end indicators & brown-retro-grips.

Fit a small brake light/tail piece, new rear shocks and powder coat the wheels satin black.

Clean up a few parts & change a few seals/gaskets etc (basically make it safe & reliable!)

Here are a few pics of the progress so far..
