If you enjoy the off the beaten track gravel passes, here's a nice one not too far from Rhodes village in the Eastern Cape Highlands.  This 3,2 km long pass descends several hundred metres and ends at the beautiful Bokspruit - a perfect spot to stop under the shade of the willow trees and throw a line over the clear waters for a frisky rainbow trout. The link below takes you tour latest news page and from there you can click through to the Bokspruit Pass.

In order to keep the MPSA website financially viable, we have introduced a small subscription fee. And when we say small, we mean s-m-a-l-l! For the equivalent of a loaf of bread per month (R17) you can get full access to the site. Existing subscribers will continue to enjoy free access till the end of February. Most of the site is still free, but we have reserved the best bits for subscribers, which are the videos, directions, fact file, interactive map and route files. If you go to any pass page, you will see the pop-up message, which will ask you to log-in or subscribe. We need as many people as possible to subscribe in order to keep the website, (which now contains almost 1000 pages) financially afloat.

Grazie! - And ride safely! Just yesterday a friend of mine died after he rode into a tractor on the Visserhok Road, near Durbanville in the Western Cape. Sixty years old - father of two sons, husband and brother - owner of 2 Spur outlets. Gone in a second. Take care...
