This is a tar run around the Peninsula. It is not a race but rather a nice scenic ride with photo opportunities.
Pillion & Newbie Friendly and a chance to meet familiar and new faces.
All bikes welcome.
Meet where?
Outriders/ 19 Dawn Road/ 10 Dawn Park/ Montague Gardens ---- Arrive with full tanks!
There will be coffee and tea.
Time?
8.30 - and we leave at 9.00 sharp.
The Ride:
From Montague Gardens down Koeberg & hook up with De Waal.....down Blue Route and we cut right (Kalk Bays a construction mess) over Ou Kaapse Weg....straight through Sun Valley into Glencairn where we drop into Willie's Viper Lounge for coffee....from there we hug the East Coast through Simons Town.....bypass The Point but stop over at Little Zimbabwe where the carvings/stonemasons are....it's worth a look....then on to Scarborough & drop in at the beach (gravel parking lot available for frustrated roosters) then on through Misty Cliffs and over the top into Kommetjie & the West Coast.....from there into Hout Bay for a coldrink & fish & chips at Fish on the Rocks (where the cannons are at the back of the harbour) arguably the best fish & chips in town ;D .....then disperse... :thumleft:
One can join along the road but that can be hit & miss
Normal road riding rules will apply such as keeping the rider behind you in your mirror....line astern...if you want to go ahead you may but no messing around.
