Over the last couple of years I have come across 3 x 990’s with this , the first one the pieces that broke off destroyed the oil pump and involved a complete rebuild , second one a piece broke the pickup coil before any further damage was caused , the third has cracks on the backing plate , thankfully found before there was a chance to do further damage .
With the price of a new clutch basket being close on to R11 000 , I am working with an engineer friend on a more financially feasible repair , the first one will be ready within the next week and will be tested to check durability .
