I have been looking at a number of possible bikes to buy and a few of them (even ones advertised on this forum) are grey (parallel imports).
People tell me not to worry, the group or dealer that imported the bike (e.g. CIT) has the necesssary network in place and servicing and parts will never be a problem.
If it is an older bike the response is often that spares are readily available. My response of - "that is a general statement - from whom specifically can I obtain spares in a hassle-free manner", is often answered by silence.
I still favour buying official bikes even if the bike is old and warranties are no longer an issue simply because I believe that I will have better support.
Do I hold old-fashioned or incorrect views here?
Some advise from the wise dogs will be appreciated.
