I find it amazing that people will put their names on waiting lists to buy a bike they have never seen or ridden....
Looking for/test riding/weighing options/and finally finding the right one that just fits right or speaks to you is one of the more fun parts about buying a new bike, to me anyway.
Have a vote, will be interesting to see what the stats say.
