A while back we decided to do a quick run to the Cederberge, Iâ??ve never been there before so was very keen to see how it is.
We were only 4 bikes this time:
Me on a 1200GS
Straatvalk on a rented 800GS
Myburgh on a 650 Dakar
Phillip on a 1200GS ADV
An all BMW outing, plenty of time for us to pose and stand up as much as we like, greatâ?¦ OK sorry there was a Honda aswell, apologies:
We left Cape Town halfday on Friday and stayed over both nights at Mount Ceder close to the Ceres side. The other guys took their families with and it turned out to be great fun for all. The girls and the kids followed in SUVâ??s
Ok, but here is the pics of Friday first:
Still some snow on the mountains:
Phillip:
Theunis doing a Straatvalk:
Myburgh:
As we hit the first piece of gravel we decided not to risk the beers in the topbox and had to consume them, donâ??t drink and drive hey?
Screensaver type material at Mt Ceder:
Doing some rounds at last light:
Boy and girlfriend, man o man if they only knew whats ahead:
Well they say there is 6 girls for every guy in Cape Town:
Accommodation at Mt Ceder was superd, and a very good deal aswell:
So the next day we headed out towards Wuppertal:
Some water splashes on the way:
Great views:
Taking a break, was really hotting up at this stage:
The road to Wuppertal:
My fav pic of the weekend, by just holding my hand up:
Wuppertal:
Some more great views:
Straatvalk doing his thing (thingie?)
The four musketeers???
Takin a break in Clanwilliam:
On the way to Algeria:
Having another chill session:
Vroom vroom:
Some more water on the way back:
So back at the camp we were pretty tired, but I decided that I should give this new 800GS a shake down. Pretty impressed with this bike:
Pers blommetjies:
Self portrait, againâ?¦.
The rivers were running close to full from all the rain and snow in the area:
Ooopppsssss:
Sorry I got that picture the wrong way round, let me correct it, aaah thatâ??s better:
Thanks to all for a great trip, not a normal bike trip though. The girls sorted us out with some seriously good chow.
Thanks to Ektoknbike for some valuable tips on the area.
