Reports on Adventure rider show fires started by short circuits as result of wear on the harness insulation where it rubs against the back of the shock adjuster. All high km F650GS's should be checked. My bike is on 70 000km, and when I checked, the insulation wrapping and wires showed definate wear - very close to creating a dead short. To check, remove 2 torx bolts holding adjuster (cut cable tye). I strengtened the harness with a section of black irrigation pipe to create a protective sleave.
