Cleaning a neglected water cooled engine - Help needed

Hi there,
Bike is a yz 250.
Engine does not look "fresh"
Do you know of a chemical or detergent that will "refresh" the outside surface of engine and carb within having to strip the engine?
Would like to keep the plastics and seals intact!
