This is rather an invitation than planning a ride: Mods: please move this elsewhere if there is a better place.

The Villiersdorp Antique Tractor & Engine Club have an open day on Saturday 21 June, where quite a number of items will be exhibited.

Prize one on show will be a 1932 model HD 10 Crossley horizontal 10.29 liter single cylinder engine, 40 hp @ 310 rpm, which will officially be started again after having stood dead still in the bottom floor of the Standard Roller Mills in Caledon for nearly 40 years. This mill was owned and operated by the Metcalf(e) Family in Caledon until late 60's/early 70's.

This engine was donated to the Villiersdorp Tractor Museum, and has now been restored to a very good condition; the greatest work to it was getting it out of the original building, and on to its new place in the Museum.

Some dimensions: Bore 10 inches (25.4cm), stroke 20 inches (50.8 cm), flywheel diameter:  6' 6'' (1.98 METERS), crankshaft dia.: about 5 inches (12.5 cm)

This is surely something to see.

THEREFORE THEN this invitation to DAWGs interested in big thumpers: How about a breakfast/brunch ride?
Have pannekoek or a brunch or whatever from about 10.00; Official starting time of THE BEAST scheduled for 11.00

LOCATION: on the premises of the Kelkiewyn Restaurant & Padstal at the exit of the town towards Worcester

(Will add a photo or 2 tomorrow morning)
