Dakar started dying at robots after traveling various distances

I am experiencing the same problem (see topic below that was posted in 2007). Especially long distance on hot days.
Do anybody have a solution?

I have 2002 Dakar, 45 000km

My Dakar started dying at robots after traveling various distances in each case. Sometime early in the morning but mostly with my first stop after about 30 km's in the afternoon. The hotter the day's temp the more likely it is to happen.
I'll be sitting amidst two cars at a robot and suddenly just before the green it'll die on me, everything will smell of petrol and if I'm lucky it'll start in two attempts.
