We went to Lesotho this past weekend for our last "Roof of Africa" training session and one off my friends had his finger crushed/amputated in a freak accident.
This type of injury normaly happens when one's finger gets caught in the sprocket but in this case the finger was crushed between the handguard and a rock. The bike was basically standing still and just fell over on a sharp rock.
This just shows just how quickly things can go horribly wrong.
It happened at the top of a serious ascend up an incredibly difficult "pass". It took us about 2,5 hours to get off the mountain and back to the lodge.
