Fork seals and the cold weather...

So my tiger's  one fork seal gave up on Monday. My bike was outside Sunday night and the temp was below freezing here (I know this because the bird feeder frose). Would the cold temp have anything to do with my bikes bust seals?  Maybe a sudden stop compressing the forks?
