I have used the search, can't find much useful information so here goes:
Where do the DIY 1100/1150 service guys find synthetic gear oil and what are you paying?
I know you can put in the mineral gear oil as long as it is GL5 but I want the best at the best price :deal:
An exhaustive search of what is best has pointed me to these;
Castrol SAF XO 75W 90 GL5
and
Mobilube 1 SHC 75W 90 GL4/5
BMW uses, recommends and sells the Castrol oil. The cost is over R150 for 500ml from them. I plan to enquire at the Castrol agent in Nelspruit to see if it is available and cheaper there.
Has anyone found the Mobil stuff and how much? Google tells me that "The oil centre" are the agents, branches all over SA.
