In a couple of weeks time it will be my birthday , turning the big SIX ZERO :eek7: , We have a place on the south coast that we like very much , and normally just hit the N3 down , highway all the way .For this trip my son will be joining me and I decided to do it a little different , taking a day off from work so will depart early friday morning , plan is 6 am . will travel from Alberton to Meyerton and then head for the vaal dam , skirting its northern eastern border on to Villiers , the a short hop on the N3 , off before the toll gate and on to the R103 towards Warden where we get back onto the N3 , off again at Harrismith and will then use the N5 / R74 past Sterkfontein dam , down Oliviershoek pass , bergville , winterton and join the N3 just before Escort . stay on the N3 to just before Mooirivier where we again get off and use the link rd to the R103 again , ride thru Mooirivier on to Rosetta and Nottingham rd , where we head back to the N3 and a brunch stop at the Blueberry cafe . After brunch we will head back and join the N3 for the last bit down past Maritzburg , and join the N2 south . Plan to do it in reverse home on the monday .
