I go out to Parys in the Free State quite regularly and usually am dismayed at the price and quality of some of the food on offer, but in recent months have started going out to the club house at the Parys Golf Estate and eating in the bar area. Background music is old seventies rock or 702 Solid Gold, very lekker atmosphere and views over the river and etc. They've got a pub menu with nothing over R60.00 and very decent quality & portions. Also have a eat as much as you can Buffet lunch for around R110.00 and the chow is good. Drinks aren't over priced either, 'bout R18.00 for a Windhoek. 'Nother lekker spot to chow is "COFFEE & MORE" on the cnr of Middel & Bree st's Parys, also very decent chow and reasonably priced drinks, Les & Phil, the owners are very attentive and usually good for a laugh as well.
