I was introduced to Florian (soon to join the WDs) at one of the companies I call on, who has moved to Port Elizabeth from Germany and asked if he could ride with me to see our beautiful Eastern Cape from a dual sport biker’s view. He owns an X challenge BMW 650. A few weekends ago Mr T and I took him to Zuurberg inn and back roads to Kirkwood to see how he enjoyed the gravel which he did.
On Sunday 28th I took him through the Alexandra forest, the Kinkelbos gravel road, and a twee spoor road and I must say the gravel roads after the floods were far better off than the tar roads in the area.
The thing about this trip is what Florian said about our freedom to just jump onto a gravel road and ride where in Germany they battle to find gravel roads to ride and enjoy.
Anyway I hope he enjoys the areas I’ve taken him to and the future trips I will take him on and he makes his friends green with envy.
Talking about green here are a few photos of our little trip.
