Handle Bar raisers for GS

Fitted 30mm handle bar raiser the otherday to my 2011 GS.
It was then recommended to me, by a BMW dealer, that I must remove the raisers, and then swap the original handle bar brackets 180*. It raises the bars slightly.
With the handle bar raisers you loose apparently up to 20% control when riding off road ???Well, I'm no expert here. eepwall:
I've removed it, still a bit sceptical, but will ride witout it for a while...
