I just got a nast surprise in the post... a R2500 fine for doing 117kmph in a 60 zone. Lovy is obviously quite upset. Me too, there goes the new jacket that I've been eye ing.
Problem is... there are two bikes in the picture that comes with the fine. Mine in the centre and another in front of me off-centre to the picture... number plate also visible. My question to the guys with legal know-how (general opinion seems to be to chuck it away - but I do not want to wast a lot of time in courts for this thing) is: Should I cough up to escape further harrassment or is there a strong case not to be intimidated into paying, since the case will not hold up. Are there any reference court cases that could be used? What do I do... who do I write to to argue that the speed measured may not be mine?
