Howdy dawgs.

Planning my first long trip which is basically from Cape Town through Northern Cape, to Maclear in the Eastern Cape. To get to Maclear I will be going over Naude's Nek pass (2587m) - the second hightest public pass in South Africa behind Sani Pass.

My (rookie) question: Am I going to have to adjust my carb air intake along the way as I am starting at sea level. I understand that there will be a power loss at altitude. What I dont want is the bike cutting out! Or is this nothing to worry about. My concern comes from a report I read here, that some guys could not make it up Sani as their bikes kept cutting out - they had to go down again do some mods.

I ride a 2010 KLR650.
