Hell, where to begin. Well, the short version is that the ink from Monantsa pass border control had barely dried in my passport than I left the road and ruined the weekend for myself.
The fall wasn't so bad, but my inexperience could have killed me on that pass. Luckily for me it only took out my radiator, fan, a couple of other smaller things and I'm bruised but not seriously injured. I say luckily, and I mean it, that could have gone much worse.

The trip started out ok, with the boney all packed and ready to go. I started out early to beat the rushour traffic through Joburg and got past Warden before I picked up my first glitch for the day. I was packed heavy and had been going a bit faster than usuall, and I had to go onto reserve to make it to a filling station.
I met up with Crazyporra and Shark in Harrismith, and had a good solid breakfast to start the day. Then it was off to Monantsa pass, and Lesotho beyound that. Ok, here's a few pics.
1. My bike ready and waiting.
2. Two KLR's and a KTM. (At which point Ken from the Christian riders came over and said hallo.
3. My KLR on the way up the pass
4. Our three bikes.
5. View over the landscape. I would really suggest this ride to anybody, and have already promised myself to go back. All this is still before border control, so you can do this even if you haven't yet got a passport.
