Thinking of buying a new VSTROM 1000 - see they are selling for R99000 now - but I have some questions:
1 - Why are they selling so cheap - are they going to be discontinued or replaced by something else?
2 - How capable is the big strom off-road?
My version of off-road riding is doing well maintained gravel roads like the kind you find in the Karoo (for example the road between Fraserburg and Loxton) and doing trips to the Waterberg where you get a combination of "sinkplaat" and some fairly thick sand with and odd water crossing here and there.
The STROM will be my only bike for now (probably the next 3 to 5 years) so it will have to fulfill the duties of riding to work and back, breafast runs, off-road riding and long distance touring (either alone or two up).
