I started trawling the classifieds for a decent metal lathe today. Going to keep fishing but I thought I might as well cast my line here as well.

I initially thought a Myford super 7 would be nice but then I spotted a Jet bd 920-w for R12500. Unfortunately it was gone last week already. Ideally I need one that has seen light use. I checked out a Myford ML7 today but it had two teeth missing off the large chuck slave gear at position 12 and 6.

I've notced that Austrian Emco lathes come up now and then. An Emco 8.5 would be nice with milling attachment.

Anyone got something that they would like to part with?

I'm never going to be John Peet, master engineer and riding a 350 Duke "like someone is chasing me" at 80+ years but I should be able to have some fun learning to work with such a machine.
