Hi All
Posting this on behalf of a friend.
He is looking at auctioning his beloved Dakar. The bike has been meticulously looked after and maintained. Not many bikes have owners that look so well after them!
The bike was bought new in 2003 by him, thus one owner for the last 13 years! Currently the bike is on 38729 Km, with a full service history at BMW Motorrad in Belville and after that in Centurion.
Heated Grips & No ABS (who needs it anyway)
Bike has the original books and also comes with a set of spare keys, which was kept in a safe for the last 13 years.
Bike was always kept under his own blanket within a locked garage. I sometimes wish I had such luxury…
Now for the real info that everyone wants to know…
This bike almost completely fitted with Touratech parts, which he ordered directly from Austria over the years. At the current exchange rate the Touratech parts alone are worth a whopping R50 000!
Bike is currently in Polokwane/Mokopane area.

Now, he wants to sell on an auction.
Auction rules:
• Reserve price applicable (this info could be shared with a moderator if needed)
• Auction will end Friday, May 15th at 13h00.
Min bid increments of R500
• Any (late) bids received within 12 hours of the closing time, will cause the auction to extend with 12hours, thus ensuring no sneaky last minute bidding.
• This is a strictly cash deal only.
• Bike can be delivered to Pretoria for free. Anywhere else is at the owners’ expense.
• The decisions made during and at the end of the auction is final.
Please relay any queries on a PM, it will be answered and if relevant, posted on the forum.
The owners contact details could also be provided should need be.
My personal opinion: This is an absolute gem of a bike, owned by a DAKAR enthusiast. This is definitely a chance of a lifetime.
Good Luck!
