I went for a ride a couple of days ago and my 2012,990 and the instument display starts going on and off while rideing. When I wanted to start the bike after refuleing the bike was dead(no starter sound). After a failed run start
it started on its own.
After opening the bike found that the earth wire from the battery had been grinded thru to the copper wire and the same on the + .
Taped it with silicone tape and insulation tape and problem fixed !!!
