Is my F650 GS packing up and dying on me???

My BMW F650GS is due for a service now K29500 with the last 7000 k's being hard riding. I was coming back from Kosi Bay this weekend and halfway back I noticed the oil light flickering at idle :shock: . Checked the oil levels and all was fine. This happend occasionally, at idle rest of the way back. The bike ran fine, power was good, no funny sounds and starts no problem.
Could this a big-end bearing giving in on me?, oil pump? or is BMW very sensitive on old oil and I am panicing for nothing?
