I've had this dream of riding the Karroo gravel roads and to visit the small towns.
I'm thinking about doing this trip in December 2007.
The roads will be 90% gravel. Mostly gravel highways. The Baviaans should be more technical.
Its not gonna be a race.
Everybody is welcome to join in. The more the merrier.
We've got quite a distance to cover so ideally bikes should be able to run at a steady 100km/h on and offroad.
I will be taking a tent with me, i think i'll camp in the Baviaans and Victoria West.
DAY1
We start in Oudtshoorn.
From Oudtshoorn over Swartbergpass to Prins Albert.
From Prins Albert we ride to Merweville.
From Merweville to Sutherland.
Sleep over in Sutherland.
DAY2
The morning we ride from Sutherland to Fraserburg.
From Fraserburg to Loxton.
From Loxton to Victoria West.
Sleep over in Victoria West.
DAY3
The morning we ride from Victoria West to Hutchinson.
Hutchinson to Aberdeen.
Aberdeen to Klipplaat.
Klipplaat to Steytlerville.
Sleep over in Steytlerville.
DAY4
The morning we ride from Steytlerville into the Baviaans.
Ride towards Willowmore. Explore Baviaans.
Sleep over near Willowmore somewhere in the Baviaans.
DAY5
The morning we ride to Willowmore.
Willowmore to Klaarstroom.
Klaarstroom through the Meirings poort to De Rust.
De Rust to Oudtshoorn.
End of trip.
