a Couple of us decided to follow the route posted on Wilddogs that goes from Bronkies to Dullstroom, but stop at Loskop.

This was our first overnight trip and we all looked forward to it but did not know what to expect.

As we all live in Kempton we left from a local petrol garage towards Bapsfontein and then Bronkies.

Fortunately it wasn't too hot Saturday the 28th of Sep 2013. We took it very easy on the road leading to Bapsfontein as the Traffic cops always trap there. It's tough to cruise at 80km/h on that straight stretch of road but the law is the law.  ;)

Quick smoke break as we turned onto the R513 Ekandustria road heading towards Bronkies

We passed through Bronkies and soon afterwards turned onto our first stretch of dirt road at the Vlakfontein turn off. This is a nice stretch of gravel road but it does have the odd patch or two of sand. The sand did claim one victim but luckily at a low speed and it was basically just a tip over. No photos taken to save the ego's.
Another smoke break on the Vlakfontein road

All too soon the first dirt road section game to an end but was very enjoyable.

Fortunately the next tar road section is very short and soon enough we were back on dirt on the Zusterstroom road for a nice 21km stretch. The road is in great condition and quite scenic.

After another short tar section we encountered some of the nicest dirt road riding we have done in our short lived Adventure careers. The 36km stretch on the Langkloof road. The road is quite dusty but again very smooth and enjoyable with some nice views.

After the Langkloof dirt road we got back on to the tar for the last 20km towards Loskop. We finally reached our destination after a total of 180km.

We had a nice lunch and draft just up the road and stayed over at the De Villa Lodge. They have a very nice swimming pool and pub and the beers tasted sweet. We will do the entire route towards Dullstroom later on in the year, but I can highly recommend this route for anyone.
