Following on from "brutal bike crash" thread and the interest shown in attending track school days to learn how to be a better rider on the road here is more info ... I am not affiliated to Killarney or the bike school at all - I just like going a few times a year and always learn new things
Attached find pdf of Killarney 2018 Calendar
In a nutshell here are the remaining motorcycle track school days for the rest of this year
17 March 09h00 - 14h00
28 April 09h00 - 14h00
23 June 14h00 - 18h00
28 July 14h00 - 18h00
11 August 14h00 - 18h00
6 October 14h00 - 18h00
10 November 09h00 - 14h00
8 December 14h00 - 18h00
The procedure is simple - you arrive about 30 minutes before it starts, fill in registration form and take your bike through basic scrutineering where it is checked by marshals to make sure it is safe and "trackworthy" - please note that no mega loud exhausts are allowed because of noise complaints from residents surrounding Killarney
There are 3 groups to choose from ... novice, intermediate and expert - as a first timer I suggest you start in novice group and attend a very quick lecture on the do's and dont's
You can move up or down groups if you think you are too fast or too slow for the group you are in.
Each group gets 20 minute session per hour - that is plenty enough time to do 10 laps or more per session = 3,2 km per lap - trust me after 10 laps you will be tired and will welcome a 40 minute rest before you go out again
Obviously if it is pissing with rain the track school is cancelled
Call Killarney on 021 557 1639 or vist wpmc.co.za for more info
Looking forward to seeing lots of you there - it is real fun and super safe
