I would appreciate comments on the following statement for a KLr upgrade
"Jardine expanding link pipe, and slip-on, massive airbox mods, Studabaker Jet kit, Screen removal from airbox, main jet optimisation on Dyno ( 160 ) , got 45bhp ( vs 33 stock ) and 55Nm ( vs 42 stock ) , outgrunts a KTM640, but it will be, of necessity, LOUD !!! Then later on I went to a Schnitz Racing 685cc big-bore which made it even more perky , and smoother, and it overcomes the KLR inherent oil-burning issue by using a Napier-style piston ring. Send me a PM and I'll mail you dyno graphs. KLR's can be uncorked big time and keep reliability, the bottom end is indestrucatable ( if you do the Doohickey Fix )."
