Hi everyone,

almost from new my 07 KLR had this "sjoeshing" noise from the front left of the engine. That made me changing the doo & spring (short one) at 4000Km. Although the engine was somewhat quieter this noise stayed. Now at 9400km it seems to be getting noisier and it does pick up speed as the engine revs.
I've tried different types of oils with now real difference.

Now my question(s)
  • is it possible that the front left hand balancer bearing can be the cause of this. I did the screwdriver test and the noise is definately from that area?
If so, how easy a job will it be to change that bearing without taking out the whole shaft from the righthand side, effectively also dissmantling the waterpump?
Any idea of the cost of such a bearing?

I tried searching the other forums with no real answer. Any ideas from the KLR guru's out there.
