Hi,
I have an old KLR, and the hooter stopped working. Normally I wouldn't bother, but I'm going for my real license at long last, and need the thing to be roadworthy.
Any tips on what to look out for, is it likely to be the hooter, fuse, or is there a relay?
What I did:
Checked the fuse box under the seat, 2 fuses in there, both intact.
Took of the right 'radiator' shroud and found a white fuse box cable tied to the frame. Contains 1 fuse, Intact.
Any other fuses I'm missing? or should I just take a chance and buy a new hooter. My multi-meter is broken, so I'm not sure if any current reaches the hooter. Yes I know I should just get one and test properly, but just maybe someone has had this before and it's a common issue?
Edit: My battery is almost at the end of it's life. Could this be the problem? Although I would reckon when the bike is running, power for the hooter should come from the alternator.
