(see picture below) Riding to work on Thursday I suddenly found myself riding on a flat rear tyre. The tyre stayed on the beading so I assumed the tyre sealant had done its job and rode the the last 10km to work. However, when I looked at it when I stopped at work it was completely flat. When I plugged the hole at lunchtime I realised there was something clunking around in the wheel and when I whipped the tyre off this morning I found it was a 10cm home made knife blade which had migrated to the inside the tyre! The large glutinous mass sitting next to the knife in the picture I assume is the tyre sealant that we all put so much faith in.
Don't know where the blade came from. Think the vendor who was a bit slow at the traffic lights must have had it under his jacket!
