We left Upington on Friday morning 2 July 2010....we = Rickus KTM 950 SE, Fantie BMW 1200 GSA , Riaan KTM 990 R
Fantie's twin brother decided that him and his wife will join us in their bakkie and Riaan had a few friends from Keimoes that also joined in a bakkie.
Our first stop was at tillery pan about 80 km's from Upington and the wind was getting stronger....

We rode another 90km to Askham there we had a beer and filled up

Then the next stop would be Rietfontein border post or as it's called klein menassa.....We had  no prob's going through either of the posts and we decided that we was going to stop 10km further on to celebrate being in Namibia.

Border

And then we left for Aroab to pay our road tax

Our plan was to meet up with the rest of our Wilddog group in Koes, but as we came into Aroab and stopped at the road tax office a lone KTM 990 S came around the corner aka Bob not far behind him the rest of the group also came barreling into Aroab....now it was time to meet and greet and we decided that before we set of to Koes as a group we must atleast have something to wet our throats.......next to the only intersection in Aroab on MAIN ROAD

After a few cold ones we decided to take to Koes, but that we will have to visit the old Kameeldoring boom that we routinely stop at for a quick wors braai and another drink or 2.....after all we were so close to Koes we could smell it  (140km) the "back-up bakkie was sent ahead to gather some wood and get the fire going, but unfortunate ly about 30km out of Aroab the whole group passed the bakkie, and we never started the braai and just ended up socialising.....a bit.

Here's a photo of the group except Oom Nico and Riian.....from left to right Me, Fantie, Willem, Boetie and Dewald...we had to borrow a chair from a nearby farm for "oom" Bob in front

Then it was of to Koes and the last 60km went rather quickly....these gravel high ways are really in a better condition than most of our tarred roads in SA. We all stopped at the T-junction coming into Koes and then left for the Hotel.
