I have owned a 950 (x2), a 990 (x1) and a 690 (x1). I have also had a GSA, but that's out of the picture, and not obviously owned an 1190 (yet >)
I want to get a new Kak To Maintain, and need to decide between the three.
690 - light, powerful, nimble, can ride anywhere, new model is incredible, can add extra tanks etc, not great for long distances, but doable. under R100k new
990/950 - very capable off road, aging model, no bad points really, but it's not a "Baviaans rear entry" kinda bike, heavy on gas. under R100k for 2nd hand
1190 - seems very bulky upfront, slightly worse offroad than the 990 (?), dangerously powerful - too tempting to open up, over R170k with extras
