KZN Tugela Valley & Battlefields Trip

I am planning a 3 day ride up the Tugela Valley - Weenen - Ladysmith - Dundee - Vryheid first week of Nov.
Anyone recently ridden the Tugela Valley recently that can offer advice on safety, stop-overs - bike friendly accomodation etc will be greatly appreciated.
