Its a plan of mine to go trough the mountain kingdom for quite some time now.
I decided to put my foot down and start planning this trip and not let the temptation of weekend trips to the karoo continue to exhaust my budget any longer!
So the plan is to depart from George and do a round trip trough rhodes up sani go see the katse dam and the highest single drop water fall in southern africa maybe do some abseiling there as well and then return via the same route home. we decided to go in april just cos there is the most public holidays and we dont have to take so much time off from work.
ok this is the plan please feel free to give us advise...
Day 1 George to Rhodes = 837km
Day 2 Rhodes to Sani top = 364km
Day 3 Sani top to Katse dam = 197km
Day 4 Katse dam to Maletsunyane Falls = 310km
Day 5 Maletsunyane falls to Balloch Cottages, Barkly East = 333km
Day 6 Balloch Cottages rest day
Day 7 Balloch Cottages to Graaf-Reinet = 457km
Day 8 Graaf-Reinet to George = 344km
Is there any input on places to stay wheather conditions any roads that we sould avoid ect?? We plan to camp as much as we can just to try keep the cost down..
