Mig welding CO2 McGuyver

So just a thought....

Can I use an old CO2 fire extinguisher bottle and slap a regulator and valve on it then have it filled with CO2 again?

This way I wont have to buy a small CO2 canister from Afrox to use with my mig welder?

Sounds dangerous so I thought there might be someone out there who could advise?
