Hi guys,
Had some new Mitas E07's fitted to my 1200GS about two weeks ago. I asked that they fit the 140 at the rear and 100/90 in front.
But as soon as I left the shop I heard a terribe whine from the front tyre, it starts building up from 70km/h and then gets really loud around 110km/h. As soon as I go over 120km/h it fades away, probably due to wind noise etc.
I then took it back to Just Bike Tyre in Centurion where they checked the balancing which was all ok, but picked up that the rim has a slight bump in it, and according to them that is the cause. Just weird that the Karoo I had on never made any unusual noises...
So I was told that they won't fit another tyre and that I first had to straighten the rim.
Has anyone else maybe experienced this with their tyre? And would it really make such a terrible whine/hum if there's only a slight bump in the rim?
Cheers
