Hi All

Not owning an adventure bike, I very rarely pop in here. However, MuddX are hosting a unique event next February at De Wildt and I believe it may be one at which adventure bikes will be able to mix it up with plastic bikes.

Details below:

Join MuddX for a new adventure on your dirt bike at De Wildt on Saturday, 27th February 2010 in the inaugural MuddXplorer Challenge.

Teams of 2 or 4 will challenge each other in an extraordinary event in which they will be required to navigate a predefined area at De Wildt, using at least one GPS in each team.

A number of waypoints will be pre-planned. Two MuddX marshals will be at each waypoint. Teams will be given an initial “flag” with their team name and a (not the same) waypoint when they start. At each waypoint, each team will be given their next “flag” containing their coordinates for the next waypoint. Every team will receive different information at each waypoint. Following another team will not help!!!

The event will be timed per team and the team that returns with all their flags in the least amount of time will be declared the winner.

The aim of the event is to:

·         Promote good social outride etiquette. Since there is no planned route and riders will be chasing down their next waypoint in multiple directions, awareness and respect for other riders will be of paramount importance.

·         Introduce a popular section of De Wildt to many of the competitors.

·         Promote awareness of the use of GPS technology in the bush.

·         Give folk a unique dirt bike bundu bashing experience

·         HAVE TONS FUN!!!
