I recently put a new chain and sprockets on the old XT 600.
It was too long, my son helped me and shortened it by (I think) 2 links.
After around 100km use, its a wee bit long again, I guess it "settled" on the sprockets etc etc.
........Can we remove another link or 2 again, or first allow it to strectch/settle/whatever again for a couple hundred k's before repeating the exercise??
Its not really THAT pap now, but yes, at least one link must be removed, maybe 2, the chain adjuster thingy at the back is also almost at max.
